Another firster wins for Tiz Wonderful

Saturday, November 17, 2012
Tiz Wonderful got his second debut winner in as many days when Lucky Tiz came home a half-length winner in his Nov. 16 career bow at Churchill Downs. He is the ninth winner for first-crop sire Tiz Wonderful, who is now ranked sixth on Freshman Sire List. He will stand the 2013 at Spendthrift for $12,500 LFS&N, as he did for 2012.

Lucky Tiz rallied from fifth after a quarter mile in the six furlong sprint for maiden special weight types. Kent Desormeaux took the bay Kentucky-bred four wide around the turn and into the stretch to collar the pacesetters inside the final sixteenth of a mile, stopping the timer in 1:12.02 on the fast main track.

Owned by Ric Carlson and Lucky Man Racing LLC, Lucky Tiz earned $30,000 for the win. The juvenile is out of Perfect Moment, winner of the Canterbury Oaks on the turf as well as beating colts in the Iowa Stallion S. She is the dam of stakes winners Perfect Point and Perfect Bull.
