Baltimore Bob ships to Lone Star for stakes win

Saturday, April 23, 2011
Baltimore Bob ran his 2011 record to three for four with a victory in the $50,000 Grand Prairie Turf Challenge (VIDEO) April 23 at Lone Star Park. This marked the third career stakes score for the 6-year-old, and the fifth stakes victor this year for sire Malibu Moon, the nation's sixth-ranked sire by earnings.

Baltimore Bob made his presence felt throughout the one mile event on the turf. He stalked the leader patiently for the first five furlongs, then engaged front-runner Snow Drift, putting him away in the stretch to hold comfortably in the final furlong for a three-quarter length win.

In 31 lifetime starts, Baltimore Bob has earned $367,265, with a record of 11-5-3. The dark bay or brown horse is out of the stakes place mare Gabby's Love and is a half-brother to Maryland Million Oaks winner Baltimore Belle and Very One S. winner Gabianna.

Carol Kaye-Garcia and Barbara Smith bred Baltimore Bob in Maryland. He races in the colors of Charles W. Fletcher and is trained by Cody Autrey.
