Barretts sale yields six-figure Tiz Wonderful colt

Tuesday, May 14, 2013
Top-10 second crop sire Tiz Wonderful's streak of $100,000-plus auction yearlings continued at the Barretts May 2-year-olds in training sale when a juvenile colt brought a bid of $100,000 from Ted West, agent.

Tiz Wonderful, who stands at Spendthrift Farm for $12,500 this year, has a 2-year-old sales average of $87,382 from 17 horses sold, seven times his stud fee.

At Barretts, hip No. 42 was consigned by Bruno de Berdt's Excel Bloodstock; the Kentucky bred is out of the Honor Grades mare Laird's Honor, the dam of the stakes-placed 2-year-old Not an Altar Boy.
