Dee Notional breaks maiden by 5 1-2

Thursday, September 06, 2012
Dee Notional scampered to an easy maiden win Sept. 6 at Louisiana Downs to give first crop sire Notional his third winner from just six runners, an impressive 50% win rate for the Spendthrift stallion. Dee Notional was also bred by Spendthrift.

Going a mile and 70 yards on the main track, Dee Notional stalked the pace in second for six furlongs, then moved to the front and drew off handily in the stretch.

Dee Notional was second in his debut, a similar race at the Bossier City track on July 14. The bay colt is owned by Terrell Jarrett, Jr. and is out of the stakes-placed More than Ready mare Most Beautiful, who now has two winners from two foals.

Notional had a $140,000 colt at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July sale and has 17 yearlings in the upcoming Keeneland September sale, which runs Sept. 10-21.
