Don't Get Mad's latest winner is 8 lengths the best

Tuesday, November 30, 2010
Take for You is the latest winner for Don't Get Mad, and maybe one of the easiest as he cruised home by eight lengths at Camarero Racetrack on Nov. 29. The 2-year-old was bred by Spendthrift's owner B. Wayne Hughes and is the third winner in just five days for his sire.

Going from nine lengths back at the half mile pole to the lead in just a quarter-mile, Take for You was never seriously threatened from then on to win as the rider pleased.

The Kentucky-bred is out of the mare Dancehall Deelites who was Grade 2 placed in Canada at age two. She is a half-sister to the filly Bickersons, who won the Grade 2 Forward Gal S. as a 3-year-old at Gulfstream Park and the listed Moccasin S. at two at Hollywood Park

Eight-year-old Don't Get Mad, who was also raced by B. Wayne Hughes, was undefeated at two, won the Indiana Derby (G2), Northern Dancer S. (G3), and Derby Trial at three. He was also fourth in the 2005 Kentucky Derby (G1) just one week after his Trial victory.
