Thursday, March 1, 2018

Spendthrift Farm reports that first-year stallion Gormley has had his first mare confirmed in foal. Gormley covered the multiple stakes-placed Forestry mare Canopy Lane among his initial group of mares bred, and she has been pronounced in foal.

Campaigned by Jerry and Ann Moss, Gormley, by Malibu Moon, captured the FrontRunner S. (G1) in dominating fashion at two and the $1 million Santa Anita Derby (G1) and Sham S. (G3) at three for trainer John Shirreffs on his way to career earnings of $1,026,000.

Malibu Moon’s only Grade 1-winning 2-year-old at stud, Gormley stands for $10,000 S&N.
