Tuesday, January 31, 2012

Grade 1 winner Warrior's Reward sired his first reported foal on Jan. 18 when a filly was born at Cobra Farms in Lexington, KY.

Bred by Mike and Jeanne Owens, the dark bay or brown filly is out of Sweet Politics, a half-sister to stakes winner Sweet Minister.

By Medaglia d'Oro, Warrior's Reward captured the biggest win of his racing career in the Carter Handicap (G1) at Aqueduct. He also recorded the co-fastest Beyer Speed Figure earned by a three-year-old in 2009 with a 113.

Warrior's Reward retired to Spendthrift Farm in 2011 with earnings of $488,216. He bred 152 mares his first season at stud, and will stand in 2012 at Spendthrift for a fee of $15,000 stands and nurses.
