G2 winner Flashpoint sires his first foal

Grade 2-winning sprinter Flashpoint sired his first reported foal on Saturday, Jan. 31st when a dark bay filly was born in Carencro, Louisiana.

Bred and owned by Brett Brinkman and Allen Chassion, the filly is out of the Lone Star Sky mare, Cora Leona, who is a half-sister to two multiple stakes winners.

“This filly has a fantastic hip on her to go along with her great looks,” said Brinkman. “She is just what we were hoping for.”

Flashpoint was a multiple graded stakes winner of $361,722 and one of the leading sprinters of his crop. He captured his biggest career victory in the form of a runaway win in the Hutcheson S. (G2) at Gulfstream as a 3-year-old. He retired from racing to Le Mesa Stallions in Carencro, Louisiana, and stands as property of Spendthrift Farms.

Flashpoint, who is set to stand his second season for a fee of $2,500 stands and nurses, will participate in Spendthrift’s Breed Secure program in 2015.
