Into Mischief

Wednesday, March 05, 2014
Into Mischief's yearlings were a hit at the March 3 Barretts Select 2-year-olds in Training sale, with two offered bringing an average of $242,500.

Into Mischief has been a top-five sire for each of his first two crops and is currently ranked second on the Third-Crop sire list for 2014.

Hip No. 37 was the first offspring of the Spendthrift stallion to go through the ring. Consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc., agent, the colt brought a winning bid of $285,000 from Dennis O'Neill, brother to trainer Doug O'Neill. The dark bay yearling is out of Preludes to War, sister to Grade 3 Nassau S. winner Only to You and a stake-winning, track record setter Up to Code.

Eddie Woods consigned and sold hip No. 116, a filly that was purchased by another southern California-based trainer, James Cassidy, for $200,000. The Kentucky-bred filly is out of the Aldebaran mare Free Space, whose first foal is the stakes winner Balmaran.
