Joan of Arch reigns in Santa Anita maiden

Joan of Arch rolled to a 3 1/4-length maiden win Oct. 4 at Santa Anita Park to give Archarcharch an impressive 10 winners from his first crop.

The 10 winners ranks fifth among all freshman sires. Archarcharch is also one of only four first-year sires with multiple stakes horses and repeat winners.

Joan of Arch showed her superiority in the stretch, coming from fifth with at the head of the stretch to win by daylight.

Joan of Arch is out of two-time stakes winner Slewville and was bred in Kentucky by Pope, Marc and Pope McLean, Jr.
