Keeneland Monday: Wicked Strong colt tagged for $140K

Grade One winner Wicked Strong has nearly three dozen individuals from his first crop cataloged at the Keeneland September Yearling sale, with three of his first lots bringing six figures, at least 10 times his stud fee.

Topping the list thus far is hip No. 2064, consigned by Gainesway, agent, and selling to Jim and Susan Hill for $140,000. The Kentucky-bred colt is out of Wall of Worry, who is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Recapturetheglory as well as Sweet Awakening, the dam of 2-time Canadian champion Are You Kidding Me. 

Close behind was hip No. 2494, a filly consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds which sold on Sept. 18. The winning bidder, at $130,000, was SBM, agent for Byanose. The filly is the first foal out of Alliteration, a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Sorryaboutnothing.
