Sunday, August 17, 2014
Kiss Moon got her first stakes victory in the $75,000 Hatoof S. Aug. 16 at Arlington Park, the 83rd lifetime stakes winner and eighth of 2014 for Malibu Moon. His progeny have now earned $4.5 million this year.

Kiss Moon, who already had a trio of stakes-placings to her credit, secured the Hatoof win with a stalking trip over the Arlington turf. Splitting foes near the top of the stretch, Kiss Moon held her pursuers at bay to win by a length in 1:42.83 for the 1 1/16-miles (VIDEO).

Owner by her breeder Carl Pollard, Kiss Moon is a daughter of Grade 3 Early Times Mint Julep S. winner Kiss the Devil. Kiss Moon is a half-sister to six-time stakes winner Kiss Mine.

Kiss Moon improved her mark to 3-1-2 in nine outings, earning $207,256. The Kentucky Oaks (G1) contender has placed in the Honeybee S., Fantasy S., and Regret S., all Grade 3 events.
