Liaison filly hammers for $100K at Fasig-Tipton July sale

Tuesday, July 12, 2016
A filly from the first crop of Grade 1 winner Liaison sold for $100,000 at Tuesday's Fasig-Tipton July sale, with Steven Shahinian the winning bidder as agent for Clark and Braverman.

Cataloged as hip No. 102, the bay filly was consigned by VanMeter-Gentry Sales, agent. The filly's dam, the stakes-placed Whiletheiron'shot, has already produced the stakes-placed winner Warsaw Ballet from her first four foals.  Whiletheiron'shot is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Sneaky Quiet, who placed in the Kentucky Oaks (G1).

Liaison won five stakes in his stellar career, including the CashCall Futurity (G1) and Mervyn LeRoy H. (G2).  After breeding 256 mares the previous two years, he stood the 2016 season at Spendthrift Farm for $6,500 live foal, stands and nurses.
