Liaison gets second stakes winner of Thanksgiving weekend

Night Strike went from a maiden to stakes winner in Saturday's $75,000 Don McNeill S. at Remington Park, taking the one-mile contest for 2-year-olds by three lengths (VIDEO).

The 2-year-old colt joins Bronx Beauty, who won the Blue Mountain Juvenile Fillies on Thanksgiving eve as first-crop stakes winners for Liaison over the extended holiday weekend.

Night Strike had flashed his potential in his previous three starts, and put it all together in the McNeill. Fifth for most of the trip, the dark bay colt came three-wide into the stretch full of run, passing Bruhlmeyer soon after and comfortably holding off Kirk of Diamonds for the win.

The winner is owned by Erich Brehm and bred by Cowboy Stables LLC.
