Magical Moon drew off in the stretch to a 10 1/4-length win to break her maiden in stunning style Friday at Saratoga in her second lifetime start (VIDEO). Ranked seventh on the 2012 General Sire list, Malibu Moon has just under $5 million in progeny earnings.

Magical Moon showed an incredible burst of speed in the stretch after going three-wide on the turn before suddenly drawing away from her foes to finish the 5 1/2-furlongs on the firm turf in 1:02.14.

Bred in Maryland by James T. Dresher, Magical Moon netted $48,000 for her owner Columbine Stable. She was purchased by Columbine at the 2011 Keeneland September yearling sale, with a winning bid of $125,000.

Magical Moon is out of Lady Dora, winner of the Grade 3 Pebbles H. and the dam of three other winners, including the stakes-placed Law N Dora.
