Magical Moon showed an incredible burst of speed in the stretch after going three-wide on the turn before suddenly drawing away from her foes to finish the 5 1/2-furlongs on the firm turf in 1:02.14.
Bred in Maryland by James T. Dresher, Magical Moon netted $48,000 for her owner Columbine Stable. She was purchased by Columbine at the 2011 Keeneland September yearling sale, with a winning bid of $125,000.
Magical Moon is out of Lady Dora, winner of the Grade 3 Pebbles H. and the dam of three other winners, including the stakes-placed Law N Dora.
