Malibu Moon duo shines at F-T Calder Select 2YOs

Wednesday, March 03, 2010

A pair of Malibu Moon 2-year-olds represented their sire very well in the Mar. 2 Fasig-Tipton Calder Sale, both ranking in the top 20 highest prices in the entire sale. The duo, a colt and a filly, both sold for well above the sale average of $257,473.

Eddie Woods, agent, consigned Hip No. 221, a colt out of the mare Two Chimneys. The bay juvenile brought $360,000, going to buyer Hugo Merry Bloodstock. Two Chimneys is a half-sister to Spinning World, winner of the Grade 1 Ballerina S. and four other added money events.

Hip No. 135, a chestnut filly consigned by Niall Brennan Stables Agent, sold for $350,000 to Grace Stables LLC.  She is the first foal out of More Than Pretty, who won the Open Mind S. at Churchill Downs
