Malibu Moon filly tops Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale

Top-10 sire Malibu Moon had another sales topper at the Oct. 6 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Yearling sale, a $200,000 filly consigned by Candyland, agent and purchased by Ellen Charles.

The filly was bred by Candyland owners Herb and Ellen Moelis in partnership with Nancy Terhune and Ernest Frohboese. The gray or roan filly is out of three-time stakes winner Aspenglow.

Malibu Moon, who had three horses bring at least $500,000 at the recently concluded Keeneland September Yearling sale, had an eye-popping average of $517,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearling sale in August.
