Malibu Moon gets ninth stakes winner of 2012

Moonlit Malibu took the $50,000 Municipalities Mayors H. Oct. 19 at Charles Town Races for the second time in her career (VIDEO). The 4-year-old filly is the ninth stakes winner of 2012 by Malibu Moon, who ranks fifth on this year's General Sire List.

Bred in partnership by Spendthrift Farm's owner B. Wayne Hughes and D J Stable, Moonlit Malibu won the seven furlong contest by three-quarters of a length after wearing down pacesetter Don'tgetsuspicious.

Moonlit Malibu is now 7-5-2 in 20 starts, with earnings of $251,788 for Country Life Farm. She is a half-sister to stakes winner Wait It Out.
