Malibu Moon has highest price colt at OBS August sale

Malibu Moon had the highest price colt during the select portion of the OBS August yearling sale. The central Florida sale runs Aug. 24-26.

Hip No. 193, consigned by Legacy Bloodstock, Agent, was sold to Nick de Meric, Agent, for $135,000. The dark bay or brown colt is out of the four-time stakes winner Ambition Unbridled, by Unbridled’s Song.

De Meric was had his eye on the colt. “Malibu Moon is an exciting sire of the moment, one who I’ve always liked and supported,” de Meric told The Blood-Horse. “This was a lovely colt, (with) a lot of scope and stretch to him. I think he is a horse that has a lot of blue skies in the pedigree. We rated him one of the highest of anything at the sale.”

The colt is the second foal out of his dam, whose granddam Prize Spot was the winner of the Grade 1 Hollywood Oaks.
