Thursday, April 25, 2013
Beautiful Dancer, a 2-year-old first-time starter by Notional, turned in an impressive winning performance to break her maiden April 25 at Keeneland. Notional, a graded stakes winner at both three and four, stands this year at Spendthrift for $7,500 LFS&N.

Breaking alertly in the field of 11 maiden special weight fillies going 4 1/2-furlongs, Beautiful Dancer battled for the lead in the first sixteenth while getting to the rail from post 4. She settled back into third coming into the stretch, then after a couple of taps from Jon Court, she lengthened stride in the stretch to get to the front inside the eighth pole, ultimately winning by a head in :52.76 seconds.

Beautiful Dancer was bought out of the 2012 Keeneland September yearling sale by her owner Roger Braugh, Jr. Out of Beauty School, the filly is a half sister to Native Dancer S. winner Laysh Laysh Laysh, who was also second in the Grade 2 General George H.
