$385K Yushun S. -photo by Kate Hunter
Malibu Moon's 2-year-old son Obruchev remained undefeated in black type races with a dominating eight-length victory in the $385,000 Hokkaido Nisai Yushun S. at Mombetsu Racecourse in Japan on Nov. 10.  After finishing sixth in his debut in Sept., Obruchev broke his maiden in the $247,000 Platanus Sho S. in October.

The chestnut colt won the 1 1/8 mile Yushun in 1:53.10 on fast track. With the victory, he has now earned $390,631 in three starts.

Obruchev was bred in Kentucky by Bloodstock Holdings LLC. The colt is out of the stakes winning mare Chatter Chatter who has already produced three stakes performers, including Maryland Filly Championship S. winner That's How I Roll.

Malibu Moon is once again in the top 5 on the North American general sire list this year, after finishing 2010 in the third spot.
