Temple City

Monday, September 01, 2014
The aptly-named Saratoga Heater broke his maiden the final race of Saratoga’s Sunday card to give top-five freshman sire Temple City his third winner from his first crop.

Saratoga Heater wrapped up the victory with a strong burst in the final furlong to win going away by 2 ¼-lengths and earn a very respectable Beyer Speed Figure of 79 (VIDEO).

Saratoga Heater was bred in New York by Machmer Hall and is owned by P.R. Racing. The bay colt is a $100,000 sales grad from the OBS Spring 2-year-old auction this April.

All three of Temple City’s winners have taken maiden special weight contests, and Startup Nation came back to register a sparkling victory in the With Anticipation S. (G2) Aug. 28 at Saratoga.
