Temple City sires first foal on Jan. 13

Thursday, January 19, 2012
Temple City, a graded stakes winner and track record-setter by Dynaformer, sired his first reported foal on Jan. 13 when a bay filly was born at Anderson Farms in Ontario, Canada.

Bred by Spendthrift Farm, the filly is out of the Wild Again mare Goes Around, a half-sister to stakes winners Mystic Night and Wacky Becky.

Temple City established a new track record at Del Mar when winning the Cougar II H. (G3) over multiple Grade 1 winner Richard's Kid. He was also runner-up in the Hollywood Turf Cup (G1) and American H. (G2), losing by a head in both races.

The only son of Dynaformer standing in Kentucky, Temple City is out of a half-sister to leading sire Malibu Moon. He retired to Spendthrift in 2011 and bred 136 mares his first season at stud.

Temple City will stand in 2012 for a fee of $5,000 stands and nurses.
