Tiz Wonderful colt goes for $310,000 at Keeneland

Monday, April 09, 2012
A 2-year-old from the first crop of Tiz Wonderful brought $310,000 at the Keeneland sale for juveniles on April 9, continuing the strong spring sale results for the Spendthrift stallion.

Cataloged as hip No. 60, the bay colt was consigned by Kirkwood Stables, agent. The winning bid was by Sagamore Farm/Bob Feld, agent. The Kentucky bred colt is out of the stakes-winning mare Shake Off, dam of three winners to date. Shake Off is out of France's highweight filly Shake the Yoke, a Group 1 winner in England who also won Hollywood Park's Wilshire H. (G3) and finished second in the QEII Cup (G1) at Keeneland.

Tiz Wonderful, who stands this year at Spendthrift for $12,500 LFS&N, had a $180,000 colt at the March 26 Fasig-Tipton sale at Palm Meadows in south Florida, a $145,000 filly at the OBS March sale, and his best of the year at the same sale, a colt who sold for $525,000 to Stonestreet Stables.
