Tiz Wonderful filly debuts a MSW winner

Sunday, August 26, 2012
Wonder About Lola made the most of her first career start with a two-length win going 5 1/2-furlongs Sunday at Canterbury Park. The 2-year-old filly is the fourth winner for her sire Tiz Wonderful, who is in the top 10 on the Freshman Sire list.

Wonder About Lola came from about four lengths back after a quarter mile, scooting through on the rail to get the lead in upper stretch and pull away for the win.

Bred in Kentucky by Robert Hewett, Wonder About Lola was bought by her current owner John Mentz for $24,000 at the 2011 Keeneland September yearling sale. The dark bay filly is the second foal out of the Irish mare Luluwa, whose siblings include the stakes winners Dreamer and Belgravia (GB).
