Tiz Wonderful filly rallies to win debut at Santa Anita

Sunday, January 20, 2013
Tiz Molly came from well off the pace to score by a head in Sunday's career debut for the 3-year-old daughter of Tiz Wonderful. The Spendthrift stallion, whose first crop just turned three, finished 2012 as the seventh-ranked Freshman Sire, with the Grade 3-winning filly My Happy Face his top earner.

Tiz Molly was eighth with a quarter mile to run in the 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight dash, but despite her rider losing his whip on the turn and being forced wide, was able to rally and get up for the victory. The final time was a solid 1:03.84.

Bred in Kentucky by Lantern Hill Farm, Tiz Molly was a $25,000 Keeneland September yearling auction purchase by her owner Class Racing Stable. The gray/roan filly is out of Deputie's Notebook, who is a half-sister to the millionaire multiple graded stakes winner Delightful Kiss, as well as the two-time stakes winner Delightful Mary.
