Tiz Wonderful juveniles continue strong sales results

Tuesday, March 27, 2012
A pair of 2-year-olds by Tiz Wonderful kept the momentum going in the auction ring for their sire at the March 26 Fasig-Tipton Florida Sale at Palm Meadows training center. Entering stud at Spendthrift in 2009, Tiz Wonderful's first crop of foals are 2-year-olds of 2012.

The stallion's top seller of the auction was hip No. 117, a bay colt consigned by Pike Racing, agent. The winning bid of $180,000 came from Barry Berkelhammer. The Kentucky-bred juvenile is a half-brother to the stakes-placed filly You're Kidding.

Earlier in the one-day sale, hip No. 57, consigned by Kings Equine, agent, sold for $95,000 to Doug Cauthen, agent. The dark bay filly is out of the Gone West mare M. A. Fox, second in the Grade 3 Railbird S. at Hollywood Park, and is from a family that includes multiple Grade 1 winner Grand Slam and the multiple stakes winning sprinter Leestown.
