Three-year-old Bourbonize remained perfect with a sharp four-length win Friday at Oaklawn Park, making the son of Tiz Wonderful 2-for-2 in his budding career.
Bourbonize, trained by Kellyn Gorder, broke his maiden going seven furlongs at Churchill Downs on Nov. 30. The dark bay had no problem stretching out to two turns over the sloppy going at Oaklawn, coming from seventh after a half-mile to sprint clear near the top of the stretch.
The winner completed the distance in 1:44.66 over the off track, getting a very sold Beyer Speed Figure of 82.
Bourbonize is owned by Bourbon Stable, who purchased the Kentucky-bred at the 2012 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Yearling sale.
