The Big Mystery had no problem figuring out the way to the winner’s circle Sunday at Gulfstream Park, winning by 1 ½-lengths in a one-mile maiden special weight contest to give Warrior’s Reward his ninth winner in his first crop.
Warrior’s Reward leads all freshman sires with four stakes horses, and he is in the top three in both the winners and progeny earnings categories.
The Big Mystery, who closed from third to kick clear in the final furlong en route to his win, was bred in Kentucky by Spendthrift Farm in partnership with Brandywine Farm. He was purchased by his owner Gelfenstein Farm at the 2013 Keeneland September Yearling sale. The colt is a half-brother to Aggie Engineer, winner of the San Pasqual S. (G2) and Native Diver H. (G3).
