Spendthrift homebred Winding Way ran her record to 2-for-2 with a scintillating 7 1/4-length allowance victory over Del Mar's main track on July 21 (VIDEO). The 3-year-old daughter of Malibu Moon is a full sister to the 2-year-old filly Kauai Katie, who broke her maiden by 12 lengths in her July 20 debut at Saratoga.

Trained by Carla Gaines, Winding Way was a sharp 4 3/4-length winner in her debut June 10 at Hollywood Park, getting the six furlongs in 1:09.97 and earning a 95 Beyer Speed Figure. Despite setting the bar very high, the daughter of the stakes-winning mare More Than Pretty topped her initial outing with her easy score at Del Mar, going 6 1/2-furlongs in 1:16.87 and getting a Beyer of 97.

Malibu Moon is enjoying another stellar year at stud in 2012, once again ranked nationally in the top 10. Besides the winning full-sister duo this weekend, his 3-year-old daughter Eden's Moon won her turf debut in the Grade 2 San Clemente H. at Del Mar on July 21.
