Dominus filly all heart in La. Cup S. victory

August 4, 2018

Despite extreme pressure the entire six furlongs of the $60,000 Louisiana Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, P Boo got her nose in front just at the right time to claim her second career stakes win [WATCH RACE].

The 4-year-old gray Dominus filly, who was bred by Spendthrift Farm, has racked up $178,390 in earnings for Robert Lestz, Gillian Harris and Kirk Harris.

P Boo never got a breather after making the lead shortly after the start. With foes on both sides of her, she posted a half-mile in :45.84. In the stretch, it turned into a two-horse race, with Dixie Brees taking a narrow lead in deep stretch, but P Boo would not be denied and hit the wire a nose better than her adversary. The final time was a snappy 1:10.17 on the fast main track.

P Boo was also Dominus’ first stakes winner as a 2-year-old in 2016. Her dam Paraiba was twice stakes-placed at Belmont Park and earned $272,999.
