An attractive yearling colt from the first crop of Thousand Words sold for $170,000 late in the session on Wednesday during Book 5 of the Keeneland September Sale.

Selling as hip 3085, the powerful bay colt is out of the Honor Code mare Redemption Code, who is from the family of Group 1 winner Bahamian Pirate and Grade 2 winner Strong Hope. He was consigned by Sally Thomas and sold to Grandview Equine.

Earlier this summer, Thousand Words got off the mark with a $250,000 filly at the Fasig-Tipton July Sale.

Thousand Words himself sold for $1,000,000 as a yearling at this same sale in 2018 to Spendthrift Farm and the Albaugh Family Stables. He went on to win the Grade 2 Los Alamitos Futurity as a juvenile and the Grade 3 Robert B. Lewis Stakes at three years old.
