21 first-crop 2yo winners for Mitole after big weekend

Top three freshman stallion, Mitole, was represented with two new winners over the weekend, bringing his total number of first crop winners up to 21.

Halina’s Forte debuted a winner at Churchill Downs under jockey Martin Garcia for trainer Philip Bauer. She was a $250,000 yearling for breeders Bill & Corinne Heilegbrodt, and A.F.& B. Vanlangendonck and was sold to owners Rigney Racing LLC. She is out of the Yes It’s True mare, Lunarlady, who is a stakes winner.

Mitole || Spendthrift Farm

Halina’s Forte had a good start and started to lead around the first turn, and kicked away in the stretch to win easily by 4 1/2 lengths. The 5 1/2 furlong race was run in a time of 1:04.39.

Another winner for Mitole came from Indian Dreamer,  a filly out of the Malibu Moon mare Go Go Dana. Indian Dreamer won a maiden claiming race at Santa Anita on November 5th under jockey Abdul Alsagoor. Trained by Val Vinkerhoff and owned by Bob Greyson Jr., and Oreste Risi, the filly ran the 5 1/2 furlong dirt race in 1:06.48. Bred in Kentucky for Lee McMillin and Eric Buckley, she was a $65,000 yearling.

These two wins push Mitole’s progeny earnings up to $1,611, 539 and into the #3 on the Freshman Sire ranking. Mitole had won 4 total Grade 1 wins, including the 2019 Breeders Cup Sprint.
