Omaha Beach had the top-priced filly by a First-Crop sire during Wednesday’s final session of the 2023 OBS March Sale of 2-year-olds in Training.

Consigned by Ciaran Dunne’s Wavertree Stables Inc. and bred by Betz Thoroughbreds, Inc./D.J. Stables/Brian Graves/Gainesway, hip No. 752 went to Kerri Radcliffe, agent for an undisclosed client.

The bay filly had worked a swift furlong in :09 4/5 during last week’s Under Tack show.

“All the 2-year-old guys here in Florida have been talking about the Omaha Beaches and they really like them,” said Radcliffe. “I saw this filly in January and absolutely loved her. She had an incredible breeze and physically, I think she is the most beautiful filly in the sale.”

I liked the Omaha Beaches at the yearling sales,” Radcliffe added. “She is also out of a stakes mare and her stride length was impressive.”

The filly is out of Pacific Heat, a multiple stakes winner and a half-sister to stakes winner Long Hot Summer.

Omaha Beach’s final results of the sale were five lots sold for an average of $326,000, over 10 times his stud fee.
