$625,000 colt tops excellent opening session at Saratoga sale for Jackie’s Warrior
August 5, 2025

Led by a colt that brought $625,000 that ultimately was the top price paid for a colt by a freshman sire, Jackie’s Warrior had a stellar first day at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearling sale on Monday. From five lots sold, Jackie’s Warrior had an average of $337,000, more than 13 times his stud fee.
Eaton Sales consigned the Jackie’s Warrior colt, hip No. 76, which went to Legion Bloodstock. The dark bay colt was bred by Tuscany Bloodstock and is out of Deherewego, also the dam of stakes-placed winners O Seraphina and Whichwaze. This is also the family of $1.8 million earner Limousine Liberal.
The Saratoga sale concludes on Tuesday. Jackie’s Warrior has two lots remaining in the catalog.
Jackie’s Warrior, the champion sprinter in 2022, was the first horse in the history of Saratoga to win Grade 1s in three consecutive years. In his first two seasons at stud, he bred a total of 365 mares.
