Spendthrift Farm’s homebred Into Mischief filly Tommy Jo earned her second consecutive Grade 1 win when she was awarded first place in Friday’s $650,000 Darley Alcibiades S. (G1) at Keeneland.

The 2-year-old filly, who won the Spinaway S. (G1) in her prior start, also earned an automatic berth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) Oct. 31 at Del Mar.

At the break, Percy’s Bar took the lead, with Tommy Jo tracking just off her flank. The pacesetter had a slim lead through the first six furlongs, which went in 1:11.52. Tommy Jo got with a neck with a furlong to go, when Percy’s Bar veered into her path, knocking her off stride. After both a steward’s inquiry and jockey’s objection, the stewards awarded Tommy Jo the victory.

“(Disqualification) is not the way you want to win,” said trainer Todd Pletcher. “I thought the filly was running a good race, and there was obviously a lot of contact that impacted her ability to finish. Whether or not it was the difference in her getting to the finish line first or not, I don’t know. It was a significant bump.”

Tommy Jo, who is now undefeated in three starts, has earned $617,963. She is the second foal out of two-time stakes winner Mother Mother and is one of Into Mischief’s 14 graded stakes winners in 2025.
