Into Mischief got his 90th lifetime graded stakes winner Saturday at Aqueduct when Love Cervere rallied from well off the pace to win the Glen Cove S. (G3).
Already a two-time black type winner prior to Saturday’s race, Love Cervere is one of Into Mischief’s 180 overall stakes winners.
Breaking from post 2 of 10 in the six-furlong turf sprint for 3-year-old fillies, Love Cervere dropped well off the pace and was in ninth along the rail at the halfway point of the race. She swung off the fence with a quarter-mile to go in search of running room. After weaving through horses with a furlong to run, she surged to the lead and won going away by a little over a length.
“She loves Aqueduct,” said trainer Miguel Clement. “She has a great turn of foot and she is ultra-consistent, which makes our job a lot easier.
“She’s game, she’s tough–everything you would like in a filly. She’s a graded-stakes quality filly and it’s great that she finally has that on her resume.”
Love Cervere is owned by Edward A. Seltzer, Beverly Anderson, and Reeves Thoroughbred Racing, the first duo also her breeder. The winner now sports a record of 4-2-1 in eight starts and has earned $366,712.
