October 28, 2025
Authentic, the 2020 Horse of the Year and Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner, will have two chances to get his first Breeders’ Cup winner as a sire this Friday when Iron Orchard constests the Juvenile Fillies (G1) and Brave Deb goes postward in the Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1).
Iron Orchard became Authentic’s first Grade 1 winner when she won the Frizette S. (G1) at Aqueduct on Oct. 4. Undefeated in three starts, Iron Orchard sold on Oct. 16 for $2.5 million as part of the Fasig-Tipton Mid-October Digital sale. She is owned by KatieRich Stables LLC and was bred in New York by Pine Ridge Stable LLC.
Iron Orchard drew post 1 in the 1 1/16-mile contest, which is carded as race #7 and runs at 6:25 pm ET.
In the Juvenile Fillies Turf, race #8 at 7:05 pm ET, Brave Deb drew post 8 in the one-mile race. Undefeated as well, Brave Deb won the Surfer Girl S. (G3) on Oct. 5. The Spendthrift Farm homebred is trained by Richard Mandella.
Iron Orchard and Brave Deb are two of Authentic’s six stakes winners in 2024. Authentic currently leads all Second-Crop sires by stakes horses and is in the top five with $5.18 million in progeny earnings.
