Liberation repelled a stiff challenge from Cecilia Street to win Sunday’s Soviet Problem S. at Los Alamitos by a half-length.

The win was the first stakes score for the 2-year-old daughter of Omaha Beach, who now has 16 black type winners in 2025. Omaha Beach is leading the Third-Crop sire list across the board, much like he did the Second-Crop list last year.

Liberation had the lead from the beginning of the one-mile race. She was pressed through the first half-mile by Eighties, who began to fade not long after the midway point. Cecilia Street presented a fresh challenge soon after, but could never get by Liberation at any point.

Owned by Hall Racing LLC, West Point Thoroughbreds, Edwin Barker, and Jeffrey Levinson, Liberation is 3-0-3 in six starts and has earned $177,600. The chestnut filly was bred in California by Richard Barton Enterprises.
