Regally-bred Into Mischief filly sets track record in Sandy Bottom S.

March 15, 2026

Chasten tallied her first stakes win in Saturday’s $100,000 Sandy Bottom S. at Colonial Downs to become the 193rd lifetime black type winner for Into Mischief.

Chasten, who is half-sister to two-time Older Filly and Mare champion Idiomatic, was making just her second start following a seven-month hiatus from the races. She tracked behind a dueling pair of front-runners before launching her three-wide bid coming into the stretch. Her Laugh, who had battled for the early lead, proved to be a determined foe in the stretch, but Chasten got the better of her in the final furlong, winning by a half-length in 1:33.40 for the mile on the fast track.

”[Trainer Brad Cox] had the filly ready for me,” said jockey Christian Torres. “So I just kept her out of trouble and set her down at the top of the stretch.”

Owned by her breeder Juddmonte, Chasten is 3-1-0 in six starts and has earned $195,034.
