Vekoma’s Mad House at his best in Count Fleet Sprint H. (G3)
April 11, 2026

Mad House took the lead right out of the gate in Saturday’s $500,000 Count Fleet Sprint H. (G3) at Oaklawn Park and gallantly held off Roll On Big Joe after a thrilling stretch drive to win the six-furlong contest by a half-length.
Winner of the Gallant Bob S. (G2) last September, 4-year-old Mad House is one of 20 stakes winners and eight graded winners for Vekoma. The Spendthrift stallion currently leads the 2026 Third-Crop Sire list by earnings, stakes horses and winners.
Mad House posted a very quick quarter-mile of :21.99, with Roll On Big Joe a half-length back in second. The gap narrowed to just a head after a half mile of :45.12, and got even tighter after the dueling pair turned for home. They were on even terms inside the final furlong until Mad House edged clear late to stop the timer in 1:08.93 on the fast track.
Mad House earned a career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 102 for the effort.
Owned by James Thares, Mad House has won six of his last seven starts. After Saturday’s payday, his earnings now stand at $603,015.
Mad House was bred in Florida by Jean White, Wavertree Farm & SGV Thoroughbreds, LLC.
