$600,000 Vekoma colt tops Fasig-Tipton July Select Yearlings sale
July 15, 2026

Vekoma’s hip No. 135 brought a winning bid of $600,000 Tuesday at the Fasig-Tipton July Select Yearlings sale, which would ultimately prove to be the top price paid during the one-day auction in central Kentucky.
Vekoma was also responsible for the third-highest price of the day when hip No. 219 went for $300,000 to Tom McCrocklin, agent from the Warrendale Sales, agent, consignment. The filly was bred by Kuehne Racing.
Bred and consigned by Shawan Place LLC, the sale topper went to Legion Bloodstock, agent.
“I think he could have stood out in the Saratoga sale, not just July,” said Legion’s Kristian Villante. “He was a big, forward looking colt with a really good presence about him. He handled himself really well all week. We love the sire, but this colt was a physical standout for us.”
The chestnut colt is out of Passionate Dream, a full-sister to graded winner Paradise Lake.
Vekoma has a commanding lead by most metrics on the 2026 Third-Crop sire list, with five graded winners, 11 stakes winners and 22 stakes horses.
