Champion Forte’s 2026 live yearling auction season got off to a strong start July 14 at the Fasig-Tipton Selected Yearlings sale when hip No. 161 sold for $280,000 to Offshoot Farm.

The Warrendale Sales, agent consignee would finish as the second highest-price filly, and the second highest price of either sex, by a freshman sire during the one-day auction.

Bred in Kentucky by Gainesway Thoroughbreds, the bay filly is out of Screaming Skylar and is a half-sister to Kilroe Mile (G2) winner Final Boss.  Screaming Skylar herself is a full sister to multiple graded winner Bel Air Beauty, who is the dam of Canadian champion Stacked Deck.

The Fasig-Tipton July sale traditionally kicks off the North American yearling auction season. The next sale will be the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearling sale in early August, where Forte has eight lots in the catalogue.

A three-time Grade 1 winner at 2 during his championship season, Forte would go on the next year to claim the Florida Derby (G1), Jim Dandy S. (G2) and Fountain of Youth S. (G2). Forte joined the Spendthrift roster in 2024 and has a listed fee of $35,000 for 2026.
