August 29, 2026

Omaha Beach got his ninth stakes winner of 2026 in heart-pounding fashion on Aug. 29 at Fairmount Park when Sharons Beach won a three-way battle in the $250,000 St. Louis Derby.
The 3-year-old was making his stakes debut in the 1 1/16-mile contest following an Aug. 5 allowance win at Saratoga. After a decent start, Sharons Beach tracked in third behind Wonder Mist and Blackout Time, who dueled through a half-mile in :48.13. Sharons Beach engaged the top with a quarter-mile to run, then the trio dueled down the stretch, with Sharons Beach getting the better of them by half-length on the wire.
Owned by BR Thoroughbreds, Inc., Gasaway, Lance and Magdalena Racing, Sharons Beach is 3-4-1 in nine starts and has earned $265,428. He is one of nine stakes winners this year for Omaha Beach, who leads the 2026 Fourth-Crop Sire list with over $9 million in progeny earnings.
Sharons Beach was bred in Kentucky by Bryan Hawk and is a full brother to five-time stakes winner Mister Omaha.
