Further Ado to finish stellar career in Breeder’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1)
October 29, 2026
Further Ado, who will be joining Spendthrift Farm’s stallion roster in 2027, will bear the farm’s colors for the final time Saturday at Keeneland in the $1 million Breeder’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1).
Further Ado drew the inside post in the field of 11. Keeneland is the site of the 3-year-old’s two most impressive wins: an 11-length victory in the Blue Grass S. (G1), and his 20-length maiden special weight score some 12 months ago, when he was named a no-brainer TDN ‘Rising Star’.
Further Ado has also accounted for victories in the Matt Winn S. (G3) and the Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) as a 2-year-old. He is 4-2-1 in 10 lifetime starts and has earned $1,661,958.
Further Ado sold to Spendthrift for $550,000 at the 2025 OBS Spring 2-year-old sale. The chestnut colt is trained by Brad Cox and will be ridden by Flavien Prat. His 2027 stud fee will be announced after the Breeders’ Cup.
The Dirt Mile, race 6 on Saturday, runs at 2:26 pm.
