Man of Promise impressive in Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint (G3)

Into Mischief’s 5-year-old son Man of Promise scored his second straight win of the Meydan meet in the Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint (G3) on March 5, drawing away easily to score by 4 ¾-lengths.

The race serves as the local prep for the Al Quoz Sprint (G1) on World Cup night on March 26.

The lightly-raced bay missed most of 2021 before returning to the races on Jan 28 in the listed Dubai Sprint S., also at Meydan, which he won by 2 ½-lengths. He backed up that effort with a stellar performance on Saturday. Run on the straight six-furlong course, Man of Promise tracked the pacesetter while racing along the outside fence. He was given his cue from William Buick with little more than a furlong to go, and he responded immediately, sprinting clear from the field to win going away in a swift 1:08.14 on the “good” turf.

Man of Promise has now earned $409,417 after selling to his owner Godolphin for $170,000 at the 2017 Keeneland September Yearling sale.  He was bred in Kentucky by Betz/Magers/ CoCo Equine/ Kidder/ Lamantia/Davidson.

Man Of Promise was conceived when Into Mischief was standing for $45,000 in 2016. Man Of Promise is the fifth foal out of Involved, who has a 2-year-old filly from the first crop of Into Mischief’s half-brother Mendelssohn, and has this year produced a colt foal by Into Mischief’s son Audible. Involved is a great-granddaughter of the GI Santa Barbara H. winner The Very One, herself a half-sister to French Classic winner Soviet Star.
