Bolt d’Oro the champion First-Crop Sire of 2022

Bolt d’Oro was the leading First-Crop Sire of 2022 against a very solid class of freshman sires that also featured racing champions Good Magic and Justify.
Bolt d’Oro’s final progeny earnings tally came in at $2,815,623. He also led the list by black type winners, with six, black type horses with 15, and graded stakes horses with seven, and was second by graded stakes winners.
Bolt d’Oro’s top performers were Instant Coffee, winner of the Kentucky Jockey Club S. (G2), Major Dude, winner of the Pilgrim S. (G2) and runner-up in the Dania Beach S. in his 2023 debut on Jan. 7, and Boppy O, who won Saratoga’s With Anticipation S. (G3).
Other stakes winners for the Spendthrift stallion were Corona Bolt, Mounsieur Coco, and It’s Bobs Business.
Bolt d’Oro, who won both the Del Mar Futurity (G1) and FrontRunner S. (G1) at two, has bred an average of 171 mares over his first four seasons at stud. His 2023 fee is $35,000 live foal.
