September 11, 2017

Malibu Moon’s lone offering during Monday’s opening session of the Keeneland September Yearling sale brought a winning bid of $400,000.

Lane’s End consigned the bay filly, hip No. 47, which went to Mike Ryan, agent. The Kentucky-bred is out of Mambo Bell and is a full sister to Noble Moon, winner of the Jerome S. (G2). Mambo Bell is a sister to Grade 2 winners Silver Music and Musical Ghost.

Malibu Moon, who recently passed the 100 lifetime stakes winners milstone and is nearing $100 million in lifetime progeny earnings, has a total of 59 yearlings cataloged in the sale, which runs through Sept. 23.
