Alwaysintomischief romps by 8 in stakes debut

April 14, 2024

Red-hot Second-Crop sire Maximus Mischief got his fifth stakes winner of April Saturday at Mahoning Valley when the 3-year-old colt Alwaysintomischief rolled to an eight-length victory in the $75,000 Howard B. Noonan S.

The 3-year-old colt was making his stakes debut in the six-furlong contest, and responded with a career-best effort. Alwaysintomischief found himself in a four-way battle soon after the start as the field covered the first quarter-mile in :22.73. He and Gunner Gabriel separated themselves going into the turn. That duo was still together in upper stretch, when Alwaysintomischief was asked for his best. He showed a very impressive turn of foot, bounding away with every stride to finish the six furlongs in 1:11.10 on a “good” main track.

The victory earned the bay colt a career-best 91 Beyer Speed Figure in what was just his fourth lifetime start.

Owned By RMS Racing LLC, Alwaysintomischief is now 2-1-0. He was bred by Daniel and Patricia Yates. Alwaysintomischief’s dam Atlantic Zip has five winners, including the stakes-placed Dare Day.
