Barretts 2YO Sale results: Jimmy Creed

March 30, 2017

Grade 1 winner Jimmy Creed, whose first foals will be making their debut in the coming weeks, had a $140,000 colt go to prominent owner West Point Thoroughbreds during Wednesday’s Barretts March Select 2-year-olds in Training Sale.

Consigned by Kings Equine, hip No. 36 had breezed a furlong in :10 1/5 seconds during the under tack show.

The Kentucky-bred colt is the first foal out of Sliced Bread, who is a half-sister to stakes winners Proud Heiress and Red Chili Pepper. The colt hails from the extended family of Exclusive Native, sire of Triple Crown winner Affirmed and Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Genuine Risk.

Jimmy Creed’s 2017 2-year-olds have sold for an average of $142,500, topped by a $320,000 colt at the OBS March sale. He is standing this year at Spendthrift Farm for $5,000 live foal stands and nurses.
